Born: Some thirty-plus years ago in rural Bavaria/Germany, raised at her parents? little farm. First musical impressions: Daddy?s accordion, family sing-alongs, the radio charts. Teenage gigs with local high school bands. After graduation daytime job as a secretary.
1992-1994: Successful studies at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, Austria. Beginning of professional singing career.
1994: Grant for the New School of Music in New York. TV portrait in Austrian television, together with duo partner Joni Heine (guitar), in its series Masters of Tomorrow.
1996: Joins the quintet Mind Games. Debut CD Mind Games Live, with Brazilian trumpet player Claudio Roditi. Concert tours with the group plus various guest stars (Leo Traversa, William Galison). Musical stints with Jesus Christ Superstar, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Little Shop of Horrors.
1997/98: Studio work for movie and TV productions, most noteably the title song of The Nanny in the sitcom?s German version. Guest and backup singer on various CD?s.
1999: Bossa Nova CD Mind Games plays the music of Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto. The CD makes it to second place of the Jazz charts in Singapore.
2000: CD Gute Nacht Lieder (Good Night Songs), an interpretation of traditional and contemporary German lullabys.
2002: Newcomer Award of Suddeutsche Zeitung, Germany?s leading daily newspaper. CD Bossa Nova Affair.
2003: Teaching assignment for Jazz singing at the Richard Strauss Conservatory, Munich (renewed in 2004). CD Marlene, featuring songs by Marlene Dietrich. Portrait of Lisa Wahlandt in Bavarian TV.
2004: Invitation to Singapore, two concerts with Mind Games in the city?s biggest auditorium. Invited to come back in 2005.
