1942 - Born London, England
1958 - Started playing professionally
1961 - First of many BBC Jazz Club Broadcasts Toured UK with Tony Hancock and Matt Monroe
1963 - Toured with the Eric Delaney Band
1964 - Joined Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated. Recorded with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers together with Eric Clapton.
1965 - Appeared with Ronnie Scott Quintet at the Royal Festival Hall with Thelonius Monk Quartet
1965/69 - Jazz Workshops for North German Radio and Television in Hamburg with Weather Report, Dave Holland, Chick Corea, Albert Mangelsdorf and John Surman. Recorded film music with Herbie Hancock
1969 - Represented United Kingdom at the Montreux International Jazz Festival with Alan Skidmore Quintet (Kenny Wheeler, Tony Oxley, Harry Miller, John Taylor).Awarded International Press Prize for Best Band, the Soloist Prize, and a Scholarship to Berklee School of Music, Boston, USA Made first album Once upon a Time with Quintet. Appeared on BBC Television Jazz 625 Series
1970 - Joined Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames. Toured USA Sweden, France and Germany. Recorded second Quintet Album TCB (Tony Levin, John Taylor, Chris Laurence and Malcolm Griffiths)
1971 - Concerts with Mike Gibbs, Mike Westbrook, Chris McGregor's Brotherhood of Breath and Ian Carr's Nucleus Festival in Northern Ireland with Mike Gibbs Orchestra and guest Gary Burton. Won Melody Maker Jazz Poll, Tenor Saxophone. (Also 1972/73/74).
1973 - Formed SOS with John Surman and Mike Osborne. Toured Italy, Germany and France. Co-wrote and performed music for a Ballet Sablier Prison at the Paris Opera House, featuring 12 dancers.
1974 - Concert at Queen Elizabeth Hall, London with SOS Appeared with own Trio at Ronnie Scott's Club, London with Charles Mingus.
1976-1982 - Toured and recorded with George Gruntz Concert Jazz Band featuring, Joe Henderson, Elvin Jones, Jimmy Knepper, Charlie Mariano, Neils Orsted Pedersen, Woody Shaw, Joe Farrell, Peter Erskine, Tom Harrell.
1978 - Formed SOH (Skidmore, Oxley and Haurand) touring Europe extensively for 6 years.
1981 - Guest soloist for 3 years with West German Radio and Television, Cologne Televised concert in Hamburg, George Gruntz's 'Tribute to Duke Ellington Orchestra', featuring Clark Terry and Britt Woodman. Televised Concert in Baden-Baden, Germany 'Tribute to John Coltrane' featuring Rashid Ali, Albert Mangelsdorf and Thomas Stanko Represented BBC at the Belgrade Jazz Festival with SOH Capital Radio Jazz Festival at Ronnie Scott's, London

the 90s and beyond -

Recorded Mask Orchestra with Colin Towns.
Recorded CD Spirits Rejoice with the Dedication Orchestra.
Belgian Blues Festival with Georgie Fame.
British Council sponsored Solo visit to Cape Town, South Africa for concerts, workshops and television.
Newport Jazz Festival at Sea (on the QE2 to New York) with Georgie Fame.
British Council sponsored Solo visit to Cape Town, South Africa for 1995.
Recorded "How Long Has This Been Going On" with Van Morrison Band which reached No 1 in the American Jazz Charts.
Recorded a tribute to John Coltrane for the BBC to mark his 70th Birthday.
Release of After The Rain CD.
Video Georgie Fame and the New Blue Flames.
Recorded CD The Call in Cape Town, South Africa with Amampondo, the famous African Drummers.
Recorded CD with Georgie Fame Relationships.
Tour of UK with Amampondo including the London Jazz Festival.
TV programme "Later with Jools Holland" with Georgie Fame.
Appleby Jazz Festival with Peter King to launch 'In honour of Bird and Trane'.
Recorded CD Alan Skidmore's Ubizo and opened Cork Jazz Festival 2002.
