     Christoph Keller

Christoph Keller was born in 1950 in Glarus, Switzerland. Since 1970 he has been internationally active as a recitalist and recording artist.

He has toured in many European countries and in Japan and has been invited to festivals such as the Lucerne Festival, the Salzburger Festspiele, the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte Montepulciano and the Schlossfestspiele Potsdam.

He made the first recordings of the complete piano and chamber music of Alberic Magnard and of Hanns Eisler, and thus contributed to the rediscovery of these composers. Many of his recordings have been internationally acclaimed. His CD with piano music by Charles Koechlin was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque in 1994.

Besides his instrumental career, Christoph Keller has been active as an essayist in the field of music theory. During master-classes by the LaSalle Quartet, he lectured on problems of interpretation, and he dealt with the same topic in a book that he edited together with Hermann Danuser. Keller has recorded lecture-recitals for various radio stations.

From 1984 to 2000 he has been editor of "Dissonanz/Dissonance", a journal devoted to contemporary music and published by the Association of Swiss Musicians.

Furthermore, Keller is a recording producer with the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, for which he has organised concert cycles such as "Interpreters as Composers", "Music and Revolution" and "100 years of Brecht and Eisler".
